When serious illness strikes, Intravenous or IV therapy assures that medication circulates through the body rapidly. IV therapy can be used to treat dehydration, malnourishment, a severe drop in blood pressure, and many other conditions and afflictions. It can also provide emergency delivery of certain medications to patients.

At Aegis, our skilled and experienced clinicians ensure the proper insertion and monitoring of IV in the home setting, providing high-level care where our patients feel most comfortable.

There are many types of wounds that can damage the skin, from minor cuts and abrasions to deep punctures and lacerations. While some are more serious than others, all wounds can leave you susceptible to infection, making wound care incredibly important.

Aegis recognizes the dangers that wounds can pose, specifically for patients with diabetes, poor circulation or who are on dialysis or have compromised immune systems. These patients are at a higher risk of infection. In order to minimize complications and promote healing, it’s incredibly important to ensure these wounds are treated and cared for correctly.

Our certified Wound Care Nurses are experienced in treating wounds of all kinds. As skilled clinicians, they will help to prevent infection and ease your pain as you recover from difficult skin wounds.

Lymphedema Treatment

Lymphedema can be caused by chemotherapy or other treatments that impact the lymphatic system. Swelling can develop immediately or appear months after treatment as a result of fluid build-up. This collection of fluid prevents the delivery of oxygen and essential nutrients to the swollen area, providing a medium for bacteria to grow while increasing your risk of infection.

Aegis offers Lymphedema treatment to help patients treat and reduce the swelling. Our clinicians are trained to help reduce swelling, improving your mobility.

If you or a love one might benefit from Lymphedema treatment please contact us.

Paying for Home Healthcare
Medicare Part A and Part B cover eligible home health services including:

  • Part-time or intermittent skilled nursing care
  • Therapy including physical and occupational
  • Speech-language pathology services
  • Medical social services
  • Part-time or intermittent home health aide services

Medicare doesn’t pay for 24-hour care at home or homemaking/custodial services when this is the only care you need. Medicare is focused on providing coverage for medical health expenses, so if the only care you need is non-medical, then Medicare won’t cover it. For more information about what Medicare will and won’t cover with home health, visit https://www.medicare.gov/coverage/home-health-services

The Veteran’s Affairs health insurance may cover some portion of the home health expenses, depending on your income and level of a service-connected disability. The rest of the cost can be covered through Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance or out of pocket. To find out more, visit https://www.va.gov/health-care/about-va-health-benefits/long-term-care/

There are several forms of assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that can help veterans afford home care. There are three different pension benefits that can be applied towards home health care: the Improved Pension, Housebound, and Aid and Attendance. Find out your eligibility here.

Depending on your policy and coverage, your major medical insurance provider may pay for some or all of your home health care services. There may be a co-pay or deductible, and you will always be made aware of that information before services begin.
